Seneca Buffalo Creek is a casino resort located in West Seneca, New York, in the United States. The property was previously owned by Delaware North, but it changed hands and opened under new management after several years of renovation work.
Overview and History
The Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino first opened its doors on December 19, 2002, as one of six gaming facilities operated by the Seneca Nation in New York State. Initially known as Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino (due to its proximity to Niagara Falls), it was expanded to Seneca Buffalo Creek include a new hotel and other amenities. However, due to significant losses from intense competition and declining market demand following the opening of a competing casino nearby, it ultimately closed on October 22, 2008.
Under Delaware North’s management, efforts were made to revive and rebrand the property as Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. Since then, it has undergone extensive renovations and modernization projects aimed at revitalizing its image and appeal to local and regional visitors alike.
